MORGANTOWN — The gym at Cheat Lake Elementary School could have been mistaken for the Louvre during its first ever school art show.

Inspiration — the great tool of an artist — for the show came after several students attended the county-wide art show, Amie Perriello, art teacher, said.

There were 783 pieces of art on display, one for every student in the school, Perriello said.

Each student referenced a famous artist — such as Pablo Picasso, M. C. Escher and Salvador Dali — and tried to replicate the style, Perriello said.
