FAIRMONT — Hot-shooting Huntington St. Joe’s bolted out to a 31-9 first-quarter advantage and cruised past UHS, 74-40, on Dec. 2, at the Frank Hines Memorial Shootout.

“We contested their shots, and they still went in,” UHS coach Ethan Brown said of the opening-quarter blitz.

“I’ve never seen a team in my life just shoot and make every shot from the field. We just made mental mistakes on fouling as well.”

Zoe Murphy and Ashten Boggs scored 12 points apiece to pace UHS (1-1), which returns to action Dec. 5, hosting Buckhannon-Upshur.
