FAIRMONT — The Morgantown High girls’ basketball team held Bluefield to eight first-half points in a 69-24 rout, on Dec. 2, in the Frank Hines Memorial Shootout, at the Fairmont Armory.

“The kids played really hard on the defensive end of the floor,” MHS coach Jason White said.

“They did a good job of limiting Bluefield’s looks at the basket, and when they did get one they limited them to one shot.”

Sydni Clawges paced the Mohigans’ offense with 12 points. Aliyssa Neal and Madison Seman scored 11 points apiece.

Autumn Spangler led Bluefield (0-2) with seven points. MHS returns to action Dec. 5, at Wheeling Park.
