Suspect in Morgantown school arson charged again

MORGANTOWN — A man arrested previously for breaking into the old Sabraton School faces new charges.

Eric Jaleel Patterson is charged with burglary and third-degree arson. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail on $10,000 bond.

According to a criminal complaint: The property owner reported to the Morgantown Police Department that on Nov. 1, he discovered fire damage and a broken window at a vacant rental property on Listravia Avenue.

Patterson matched the description given by a witness, and Patterson admitted to entering the home, starting a fire and burning items from the residence.

The fire resulted in $3,000 in damage.
