W.Va., Pa. police seek man accused assaulting woman

KINGWOOD — Police in West Virginia and Pennsylvania are seeking a Bruceton Mills man accused of taking a woman across state lines and assaulting her.

According to a Nov. 29 press release from Pennsylvania State Police, Virgil Lee Hall, 44, kidnapped a woman Nov. 18 from her home in Preston County and drove her to Wharton Township, Pa., where he assaulted her in a cornfield.

Hall’s vehicle was disabled in the field, according to the release, and, “he drug the victim by her hair back into Preston County, WV, to his residence.” There was no indication how far the victim was allegedly drug by her hair. Police did not return a call in time for this report.

Both states have warrants for Hall, according to the release.
