MORGANTOWN — Students at Suncrest Elementary School are getting a chance to use an emerging technology — 3D printing.

Rich Senatore, a technology teacher at Suncrest, started a 3D printing club for third- and fourth-grade students and also teaches an elective class for fifth-graders.

Senatore said his goal for the club is to teach students the practicality of 3D printing during the six-week experience.

After showing students the basics of the program, Tinkercad, Senatore said, he instructed the kids to design a keychain and let their imaginations go.

“The designs and creativity from the kids exceeded my expectations,” he said.
