Trinity eliminates C-B to reach regional play

WEST UNION — With a 3-0 victory against Clay-Battelle on Nov. 1, the Trinity Christian volleyball team assured itself a berth in the Nov. 4 regional tourney.

The Warriors (24-16) ousted the Cee-Bees in sectional play, 25-20, 25-12 and 25-20.

Doddridge County then beat Trinity, 3-0 (22-25, 18-25, 18-25), for the sectional title.

The Warriors return to West Union to play East Hardy or Moorefield at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 4. The winner of that match advances to the state tournament, as well as to the regional final.

Morgan Mullens led Trinity on Nov. 1, with eight aces, 14 assists and 17 kills. Emma Chase added 19 assists; Rachel Rosen had 11 blocks and Reagan Sharp nine; and Kate Dlugos had 31 digs and Jaclyn Smith 30.
