Trinity eighth at state golf tourney

WHEELING — Trinity shot a 314 and is in eighth place in the eight-team Class A field at the state golf championship, on Oct. 3, at Oglebay Resort’s Jones Course.

Trinity’s Caleb Jenkins shot a 100. He was followed by Mark Spruill (103), Blake Wolfe (111) and Briston Bennett (118).

Ravenswood leads the Class A field, with a 253, followed by Madonna (258), Wheeling Central (259), Charleston Catholic (261), St. Joseph (276), Summers County (287) and Tucker County (297).

Preston’s Jake Livengood carded a 97. He is in 37th place in the Class AAA field.
