MORGANTOWN — WVU sophomore designated hitter/right-handed pitcher Braden Zarbnisky was named a third-team all-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)

Zarbnisky is the 17th all-American in program history. He is recognized as one of two utility players on the third team.

The Mountaineers earned at least one all-America accolade in each of the last three years. Kyle Davis and B.J. Myers were recognized in 2015, while Ivan Gonzalez and Darius Hill were honored in 2016, all on freshman all-America teams.

As one of the nation’s best two-way players, Zarbnisky led WVU with six wins and six saves on the mound and paced the team with a .336 batting average and a .417 on-base percentage.
