Man sentenced to 90 days home confinement, road rage incident

A man seen on video in a road rage incident last year was sentenced to 90 days home confinement, Mar. 19, for his actions.

William Sothen, 64, of Salem, pleaded no contest to a single charge of battery. The maximum sentence for battery is up to a year in jail and/or up to a $500 fine. The video, played for the court, shows Sothen in a physical altercation with Amber Generally, then 21, on Van Voorhis Road.

Monongalia County Magistrate Court Judge Hershel Mullins presided over the sentencing hearing, originally scheduled to be a trial before the last minute plea.
