MORGANTOWN — A Morgantown man was arrested on three felony charges following a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt.

Shane Edward Stephens, 28, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Bond was set at $100,000.

According to criminal complaints: Stephens was stopped June 12 while driving on Walnut Street, after he was seen not wearing a seatbelt.

The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a search, a backpack was located containing cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and an acetaminophen-hydrocodone pill. The bag also contained a loaded .38-caliber revolver.

Stephens had cash and bags of marijuana on him.

He was previously convicted of possession with intent to deliver in 2010.
