Sabraton Station hosts carnival

MORGANTOWN — The aroma of fried foods and lemonade is in the air this holiday weekend.

A local carnival is taking place this weekend in Sabraton. As cars pass on Earl L. Core Rd, local residents may see rides and large tents.

The carnival is located directly behind the Sabraton Station. The first night for the carnival took place on Thursday May 25 and opened at 5 p.m.

The carnival will open again Friday May 26 at 5 p.m. with tickets available to enjoy fair entertainment.

Jessica Marcelle, a ticket booth operator, said she traveled down from Delaware to work the carnival. This is her 3rd season as carnie and 2nd season with this company. She went to Ohio to work as a game tent carnie and then the carnival traveled here.

Marcelle said, “I’m more about rides than anything.” Her favorite part about working carnivals is all of the new people she gets to meet.

The carnival will run through Sunday.
