Friendly nails pampers customers in new location

Salon opens branch at University Town Centre

Friendly Nails has opened a salon at University Park to serve customers in the Suncrest area.

The new location features the same warm atmosphere that patrons of the Sabraton Plaza salon have come to expect. The shops are owned and operated by Co Doan – “DC” – and his wife, Helen.

“I’m so happy to come here and do the business with all the students,” DC said of the Oakland Street location.

“I wish I could have come here for all my undergraduate experience,” said WVU student Makenzie Deener, after getting acrylics for the first time.

Deener, 22, graduated Friday, and was a second-time customer who has come to appreciate the friendly staff. “They really communicate with you while you’re getting your nails done,” she said.

“I was here about a month ago, and [DC] remembered everything that we had talked about. So it’s really nice to come here.”

DC said he enjoys talking with customers and helping them relax during the pampering process. He said the idea to open another salon was sparked by customer requests at the Sabraton Plaza, Earl Core Road, shop where they have operated for five years.

The new salon offers more than 800 color choices for manicures and pedicures as well as spa features such as massages, facials, waxing and hair services.

Customers are always welcomed with a smile, and the comfortable chairs and delicate décor create a pleasant atmosphere.

The majority of customers come from two staples in Morgantown: West Virginia University and Ruby Memorial Hospital, DC said.

“I just want to say thank you to all customers,” he said.

Friendly Nails welcomes appointments and walk-ins. The University Park location is on the Evansdale Campus and accepts Mounty Bounty debit cards.
