Boys’ basketball: Musselman 56, Morgantown 55

FAIRMONT — The Morgantown High boys’ basketball team was over-powered Jan. 17, at the Fairmont Armory, losing to Musselman, 56-55.

Despite the close score, the Mohigans were out-rebounded, 42-17.

“Anytime you lose the rebound battle by 25, it’s not good,” head coach Dave Tallman said. “It’s a black mark that we need to fix. I’ve never had a team that got out-toughed that badly. We’ve got to get it fixed and I’ll get it fixed. I don’t think it’s too late for this team, but we have to get competitive if we want any success this year.”

Jayron Wilson (14), Cam Selders (15) and Garrett Haines (10) scored in double-figured for Morgantown (5-5).

The Applemen’s Jake Stephens led all scorers, with 24 points.

The Mohigans will play at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17, at Preston.
